A defining moment
After careful planning, we officially broke ground on our new production site in Saarlouis, marking the beginning of construction. The groundbreaking ceremony on May 13 was a pivotal and special occasion. Numerous journalists, key project partners, and representatives from the state, business, and the region were present as Vetter ceremoniously marked the start of construction. We are building a state-of-the-art production facility for the commercial manufacturing of injectable medicines on a 40-hectare industrial site. This site will receive nearly half a billion euros in initial investment. This groundbreaking is a significant milestone for Saarland and for us. Media interest was high.

Foundation in place, ready to move ahead
The ceremonial groundbreaking marks the beginning of the first construction phase. Initially, we will build a production facility with approximately 50,000 m2 (538,196 ft2 ) of floor space. From 2031 onward, we plan to manufacture medicines there for our customers around the world.
By the end of the first construction phase, we expect to create up to 1,500 jobs. Over the long term, as the site continues to grow, as many as 2,000 jobs will be possible. The construction of the new site in Saarlouis is a key pillar of our global growth strategy, enabling us to expand our capacity and strengthen our market position in the coming years.
