Getting off to a smooth start with onboarding mentors
Each new employee gets support from an onboarding mentor within their department. Jasmin Czombera is one. She helps newcomers acquire all the knowledge they need, is always available to answer technical questions, and provides reassurance during the beginning phases. It allows career changers to quickly gain extensive knowledge of machines, processes, rules, and responsibilities. This is a volunteer role that experienced employees take on in addition to their regular job. “I enjoy getting to know new people and am happy to take the time,” she says. “And it makes me proud, too, when my new colleagues achieve their first successes, work independently at a station, or pass a qualification.”
Working together for a strong onboarding process
Anke Thiel is one of six Vetter team managers focusing on onboarding. She has been happily supporting new recruits for two years. "My job is to provide guidance and reassurance to new employees who have no experience in the pharmaceutical industry. They should have the chance to settle in smoothly, go through a structured onboarding and, above all, quickly find their feet in their new environment. At the same time, I’m responsible for connecting new hires with mentors. I now know almost all of the onboarding mentors in production. We stay in touch with one another so we can respond quickly if extra support is needed. Effective support is the key to a successful start, well-trained employees, and a strong team.”

Anke Thiel has been at Vetter for 16 years. She started out as a Production Staff member and became a Shift Coordinator and a Team Manager in Production. During this time, she has mentored many new colleagues, helping them through their first months in the department. Today, the Onboarding Team Manager supports the onboarding process in production and connects newcomers with their mentors.

Jasmin Czombera has been a Production Staff Member at Vetter for ten years. With her experience and empathetic nature, she supports new employees during their onboarding and ensures that they are well integrated into the team.
