Vetter/Syntegon partnership scores PDA Drug Delivery Innovation Award

PDA Drug Delivery Innovation Award 2021

Together our teams are breaking new ground in small batch filling. Learn more about this award-winning collaboration.

With demand for niche and orphan drugs continuing to surge, Vetter and Syntegon recently synced their expertise to advance the industry’s approach to small-batch drug manufacturing. Now, our two teams are proud to announce that this partnership has received special recognition from the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA).

Together, we’ve been honored with the “2021 Drug Delivery Innovation Award - Partnership Category” for our collaboration on the Versynta microBatch system. The award recognizes the achievement of a partnership that has successfully introduced a new product, system, or technology, or enhanced the performance or scalability of an existing technology.

Our collaboration has been focused on solving one of modern CDMOs’ greatest challenges: creating new processes and technologies optimized for batches of 3,000 units or less. The result is a new industry standard for fill/finish, one that’s fully aligned with international regulatory requirements.

Optimized for flexibility, the Versynta microBatch System is based on a gloveless isolator cell with a versatile robot, responsible for line setup, filling and environmental monitoring. The system can handle a broad range of pre-sterilized packaging components, including pre-filled glass or plastic syringes. Its comprehensive monitoring system and 100% fill weigh checks enable continuous process control.
